    Westinghouse Lighting

With the philosophy of making life convenient for their customers, Westinghouse Lightning Corporation has the biggest selection of illumination products. Offering hundreds of accessories, fixtures and hardware, it specializes both in residential and commercial applications. The company is known throughout the world with headquarters domiciled in major cities.

The success of Westinghouse Lightning Corporation can only be credited to its brainchild, George Westinghouse. Even before his name became a household brand, he was already a notable inventor. On the record, he is considered to be the most accomplished with about 400 copyrights under his cap. Most of those patents were original that even after how many years, his creations remained to be very instrumental in contemporary living.

One of the chief contributions made by Westinghouse Lighting Corporation was the conception of alternating current (AC) rather than the system of direct current (DC) more favored by Thomas Edison. Due to the fact that the alternating current (AC) is much safer, homes in the United States started to have electrical connections. The use of the conventional candles in order to illuminate a dim corner was no longer appreciated due to the brilliance of George Washington's handiwork.

To show the public what were the great advantages in utilizing the alternating current (AC), Westinghouse Lightning Corporation organized plush presentations such as the World Fair on 1893. George Washington's determination to embark on endeavors that led to novelty, enhanced the quality of life of the rest of the world and the next generations that followed. Not to mention, the popularity also brought in huge amount of sales to the company.

When you come to think about it especially with all the available technologies this modern age have, the things that were first introduced by the persons who may have been considered as geeks due to their pursuit of realizing their aspirations, were not totally complicated. The innovations were actually simple such as redesigning a display in a shop so the customers will save time in looking for a certain item. Another example was when the parts of a ceiling fan were reduced to eliminate the hassle of installation.

For over a hundred years, merchandise manufactured by Westinghouse Lighting Corporation has been greatly patronized. Even with the rise of other firms of its kind, not all have been at par with what the business has established. According to surveys conducted by brand awareness studies, about 96% of the adult population prefers the brand over the others.
